Tuberville Celebrates Funding He Voted Against

09:51 Jun 28 2023
Times Read: 152

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) on Tuesday celebrated his state getting more than $1 billion for broadband efforts, thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law ― a bill he voted against.

“Broadband is vital for the success of our rural communities and for our entire economy,” Tuberville tweeted, along with a link to an article about his state getting $1.4 billion for expanding broadband access to underserved areas. “Great to see Alabama receive crucial funds to boost ongoing broadband efforts.”

The article spells out where that money is coming from: The National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which oversees grant programs related to broadband, has announced how much money each state will get from the Commerce Department’s Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment program. States getting this money now have 180 days to submit a plan to NTIA for how they plan to use those funds.

The money for this initiative is flowing from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which included a historic $65 billion investment in expanding high-speed, affordable broadband. President Joe Biden signed this into law in November 2021.

When the bill came before the Senate in August 2021, Tuberville voted no.

Beyond that, NTIA’s website notes that Biden’s investment in broadband builds on funding provided by the American Rescue Plan, which Tuberville also voted against.

Tuberville spokesperson Steven Stafford dismissed the idea that there’s anything hypocritical about the senator hailing the benefits of legislation he opposed.

“There’s no discrepancy,” Stafford said, pointing to Tuberville’s statement from 2021 in opposition to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“Coach voted against the infrastructure bill because it wasted Alabamians’ tax dollars,” he said of Tuberville, a former college football coach. “It spent too much to get too little in return for Alabama. But now that it is law of the land, the people of Alabama deserve their fair share.”

“Coach is proud to advocate for this funding to go to Alabama,” Stafford said.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) similarly tweeted about his state getting $3.3 billion for broadband expansion.

And just like Tuberville, he voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act.

Liz Says To Many Idiots Are Being Elected

02:34 Jun 28 2023
Times Read: 160

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) suggested Monday that the problem with American politics is that “we’re electing idiots.”

“Look, I think that the country right now faces hugely challenging and fundamentally important issues,” Cheney said at an event with the cultural and community center, 92nd Street Y, New York. “What we’ve done in our politics is create a situation where we’re electing idiots.”

Cheney, who is a staunch opponent of former President Trump, offered the reflection in response to a question about whether she would run for president if polling showed that it would hurt Trump’s third White House run.

“I don’t look at it through the lens of, you know, is this what I should do or what I shouldn’t do,” the former congresswoman said. “I look at it through the lens of, how do we elect serious people? And I think electing serious people can’t be partisan.”

“Because of the situation that we’re in, where we have a major-party candidate who’s trying to unravel our democracy — and I don’t say that lightly — we have to think about, all right, what kinds of alliances are necessary to defeat him, and those are the alliances we’ve got to build across party lines,” she added.

Cheney, who ultimately lost her primary last year to a Trump-backed Republican candidate, has remained adamant that the former president cannot be reelected.

“I really believe, and I’ve never believed something as strongly as I know this, that the single most important thing for the country is that Donald Trump can’t be anywhere near the Oval Office again,” she said.

Well I don't agree with her on a lot but I agree that Mango can't be anywhere near the oval office again.

Greene Is Falling Apart

Times Read: 184

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, R-Ga., seemed to imply that she thinks she is being spied on through her television, appearing to express concern that her life may be in danger.

"Last night in my DC residence, the television turned on by itself and the screen showed someone's laptop trying to connect to the TV," the far-right lawmaker wrote in a tweet on Sunday.

"Just for the record: I'm very happy. I'm also very healthy and eat well and exercise a lot. I don't smoke and never have. I don't take any medications. I am not vaccinated. So I'm not concerned about blood clots, heart conditions, strokes, or anything else. Nor do I have anything to hide. I just love my country and the people and know how much they've been screwed over by the corrupt people in our government and I'm not willing to be quiet about it, or willing to go along with it," Greene continued.

And does anyone believe Space Laser Barbie should have access to classified information? The TV turned on by itself????? Next thing she will say that Jewish Space Lasers started the California wildfires..... oops she already said that.

Liberty University Official Cites, Stalin,Mao and Hitler

14:24 Jun 26 2023
Times Read: 196

Not sure what it is with right wingers these days, admiring totalitarian leaders and their quotes. We also saw this recently from Moms for Hitler, er, Liberty when a chapter quoted Adolf in one of their newsletters. Perhaps someone should tell them they're giving the game away when they're praising totalitarian despots with their desire for control.

From his linked-in page, Ryan Helfenbein is listed as Liberty University's Senior Vice President of Communications, meaning I suppose that he's good at communicatin' and stuff. Ryan Helfenbein made the strange - and repulsive- comparison at the Faith and Freedom coalition gala.

Liberty University's Ryan Helfenbein at the Faith and Freedom coalition gala said: "What we're discovering as parents and conservatives is education really is evangelism. So, if you don't control education, you cannot control the future. And Stalin knew that, Mao knew that, Hitler knew that. We have to get that back for conservative values."

https://crooksandliars.com/2023/06/liberty-universitys-comm-director-touts

So for those of you who do not know Liberty University is a Christian University in Lynchburg Virginia. It was founded by the right wing (aren't they all) Southern Baptist Minister, Jerry Falwell Sr. Falwell was the founder of the Moral Majority, which was neither. Falwell once accused President Bill Clinton of murder on national TV... FOX I believe. So there you go..... Seems the party of family values and freedom is kissing up more and more to the authoritarians even the dead ones.

Retired Federal Judge Considered a Conservative Calls GOPQ Spineless

01:55 Jun 26 2023
Times Read: 205

Conservative retired federal judge J. Michael Luttig has called the Republican Party base “spineless” for its continued support of former President Donald Trump and submitted that the GOP is destroying itself.

“If the indictment of Mr. Trump on Espionage Act charges – not to mention his now almost certain indictment for conspiring to obstruct Congress from certifying Mr. Biden as the president on Jan. 6 – fails to shake the Republican Party from its moribund political senses, then it is beyond saving itself. Nor ought it be saved,” Luttig said in a scathing New York Times op-ed published Sunday.

Luttig called Republican support of Trump, the current front-runner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, “a colossal political miscalculation.”

“No assemblage of politicians except the Republicans would ever conceive of running for the American presidency by running against the Constitution and the rule of law. But that’s exactly what they’re planning,” Luttig wrote.

The op-ed marks an extraordinary repudiation of the GOP from a lifelong registered Republican.

Luttig, a former judge on the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals, was a key witness at the January 6 committee hearings last year. He is also known for his conservative credentials and longstanding ties with the Supreme Court. In 1991, he was part of the team that prepared Clarence Thomas for his controversial Supreme Court nomination hearings, and he later became known as one of the top “feeder judges” on the court of appeals level, sending 45 of his 47 clerks to clerk for justices on the high court.

Ahead of the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, Luttig advised Vice President Mike Pence’s legal team against claims from Trump allies such as attorney John Eastman, who had argued that Pence had the power to block the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

“The stewards of the Republican Party have become so inured to their putative leader, they have managed to convince themselves that an indicted and perhaps even convicted Donald Trump is their party’s best hope for the future,” Luttig wrote in his op-ed.

He also name-checked prominent Republicans who have stopped short of throwing their political support to Trump but have attacked the Justice Department over its investigations into the former president.

“Both Governor DeSantis and Mr. Pence pledged – in a new Republican litmus test – that on their first day in office they would fire the director of the F.B.I., the Trump appointee Christopher Wray, obviously for his turpitude in investigating Mr. Trump,” Luttig wrote.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/25/politics/michael-luttig-republican-party-trump-rebuke/index.html

The crowded GOPQ field is a field of midgets who have indeed promised to gut the rule of law.

Why Is The Right Afraid of Woke? It's the Truth of White Privilege

14:38 Jun 25 2023
Times Read: 220

Long ago and far away in a country where we all seemed to believe in roughly the same reality, many people in a political party that traditionally talked up law and order and guffawed that liberals needed to put on their "big-boy pants" to face the harsh facts of the world lost their minds. How did this happen? Well, they were reminded that there was such a thing as white privilege. They had forgotten about it, possibly on purpose.

They were told that, yes, white privilege is a thing, and it's pretty obvious. They fumed and feigned outrage at this accurate report on the state of the real world until they convinced themselves that it was a huge lie and an outrage. Coached by their favorite enablers in the media, they worked themselves up into an emotional lather until they could act their parts somewhat convincingly, even with all the unrealistic lines. Think of the Stanislavsky Method in acting, except this was the Limbaugh Method of acting out.

Of course it wasn't just about white privilege; that's just the most obvious aspect of the advantages that individuals or groups enjoy (or do not enjoy) in our society, without having to show any particular merit. When the renewed discussion of privilege was extended to male privilege, white men — incongruously led by an obese man-boy in orange makeup sporting a spun-sugar combover — embarked on their White Men's Campaign of Endless Grievances.

Related

Were the founding fathers "woke"? Compared to the modern-day GOP, definitely

So many things in our society can be understood by thinking back to high school. Think of nearly any Hollywood film about suburban teenagers, in which the good-looking spoiled brats of the country-club set get their comeuppance in the third act after reveling in all sorts of bad behavior. These days, roughly a third of the country seems to be rooting for the obvious villains in a new version of that story, now unfolding in our troubled being democracy. It could be called "White Men Whining III: The Retribution," but honestly we've already been gifted the best possible title: "Florida: Where Woke Goes to Die."

Joking aside, the privileges afforded by stereotypical or conventional "good looks" — which generally implicate categories of race and class — are undeniable. Like all other forms of privilege, it provides people with entrée, a form of soft power that can corrupt one's thinking pretty quickly. Handsome boys and beautiful girls often age into vapid adults as a result of this privilege; they never had to put any effort into being accepted. (Read W.B. Yeats' "A Prayer for My Daughter." He knew all about this.) White men may not be able to jump — according to stereotype, of course — but they are well positioned to fail their way up corporate and political ladders, often all the way to the top for the ones who are tall and blandly handsome and sport Ivy League degrees.

The fight against "woke" (a term with a longer history than most of us may realize) is strikingly similar to the fight the right previously waged against "politically correctness": It's an existential battle against allowing people to be awakened — by reading novels and history, by attending plays, by watching and listening to actual news — through open discussion of privilege or systemic racism or, to use a different but related term, the underlying and nearly invisible structures of caste in America. It is a fight to stop people from talking about those social structures, or about the combination of religious zealotry and political ideology at work to foreclose women's bodily autonomy. It's a fight to prevent young people from expressing their sexual and gender preferences, to make it more difficult for certain groups of citizens to vote, and to keep books that might make the most hypocritical and closed-minded evangelical Christian pastors uncomfortable off the shelves of public schools and libraries.

Want a daily wrap-up of all the news and commentary Salon has to offer? Subscribe to our morning newsletter, Crash Course.

As with the freakout over the very suggestion that the category known as "white" comes with unacknowledged privilege, the cultural battle against "woke" strikes many combatants as an existential struggle. By the rules of the age-old game of race and caste and class privilege, they cannot allow themselves to entertain the thought that the advocates of "woke" might have a point. James Baldwin illustrates this predicament in his "Letter From a Region in My Mind," writing that "even if I should speak, no one would believe me. And they would not believe me precisely because they would know that what I said was true."

Writer and environmentalist Wendell Berry addresses this from the other side in "The Hidden Wound." his memoir of the time he spent in childhood on his grandfather's farm in northern Kentucky during the Jim Crow era. His title refers to his awareness that America had a hidden wound, the recent history of slavery, and that white Americans had a corresponding "mirror wound":

This wound is in me, as complex and deep in my flesh as blood and nerves. I have borne it all my life, with varying degrees of consciousness, but always carefully, always with the most delicate consideration for the pain I would feel if I were somehow forced to acknowledge it.

Berry no doubt recognizes the fight against "woke." It is a desperate attempt not to acknowledge the hidden wound.

The founders of our nation worried about the rise of a new American elite, not what Thomas Jefferson felt was a natural aristocracy based on virtue and genius but what he called a "tinsel-aristocracy" of wealth and beauty and fortunate birth. John Adams most feared the rise of an oligarchy, an elite of property-owning families who would seize control of politics. They had good reason, from their reading of history, to fear such outcomes.

In his book "American Dialogue: The Founders and Us," Joseph J. Ellis writes of the late-life letters between Jefferson and Adams and what would turn out to be their final exchange, about the issue of actual or potential human equality. Adams wrote that the rise of an aristocratic elite was inevitable:

The same political parties which now agitate the U.S. have existed thro' all time. Whether the power of the people, or that of the aristoi should prevail, were questions which kept the states of Greece and Rome in eternal convulsions…. To me it appears that there have been party differences from the first establishment of governments, to the present day…. Everyone takes his side in favor of the many or the few.

Bolstering his argument, Adams pointed to the five "pillars of aristocracy" that philosophers had known from antiquity: beauty, wealth, birth, genius and virtue. Any combination of the first three elements, he wrote, would overwhelm even the last two.

We now live in the exactly the country Jefferson and Adams feared — a nominal democracy in which proportional representation has been gamed to death, where politicians are purchased (or at least legally bribed) through "donations" from corporations and billionaires, and where we increasingly find ourselves ruled by an unnatural and unworthy aristocracy, many of whom not only lack any discernible virtue but gleefully represent negative virtues.

Donald Trump used his wealth and birthright (he was a millionaire by age 8) to play-act as a successful businessman and skirt the law time and time again. He desperately wanted us to believe he was the master of "The Art of the Deal" when his only true art has been in grifting his fans and followers and in obstructing justice with endless lawsuits and whiny claims of persecution. Thanks to his wholly undeserved privilege, he has failed time and again as a businessman and, mercifully, failed to overturn the 2020 election. Elon Musk had the right combination of interlocked wealth and birth, and his only "genius" lies in taking credit for the engineering work of others. We now know much more than we ever wanted to about his utter lack of virtue.

The political aristocracy is eager to point at its ideological enemies, calling them the "woke" elite. Most of us know who the real elites are, even if they affect a drawl and try to bro-up with working-class voters.

If Ron DeSantis is elected next year, he would become our second youngest president, after John F. Kennedy. While JFK, largely at his wife's request, ushered in a brief, shining period when art and culture were showcased at the White House, DeSantis and his wife, Casey (who appears to model herself on Jackie Kennedy), would gleefully defund all art that does not conform to "patriotic" propaganda purposes.

These days the actual political aristocracy — or at least their well-paid minions in Congress — are always eager to point at their ideological enemies, calling them the "woke" cultural elite. But most of us can see who the truly powerful elites are: upper-caste white men from Ivy League schools, even (or especially) if they affect a drawl, raise a fist in solidarity with insurrection, comically ride a Harley or otherwise try to bro-up with the working-class voters they hold in obvious contempt.

As Pulitzer-winning author Isabel Wilkerson wrote in her 2020 bestseller "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontent," people like Trump and DeSantis and, well, like me, benefit from "the universal response to hierarchy — in the case of an upper-caste person, an inescapable certitude in bearing, demeanor, behavior, a visible expectation of centrality." Those kinds of hierarchies, especially in Black-and-white America, have always existed among and within all groups, including immigrants.

In the centuries since the notion of "whiteness" was created, poor and working-class white men and women learned the importance of rejecting the truth about white privilege. Wilkerson quotes Yale scholar Liston Pope in 1942, writing: "The mill worker with nobody else to 'look down on,' regards himself as eminently superior to the Negro." Or as Lyndon Johnson famously remarked to Bill Moyers, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Donald Trump has treated that sentence as scripture. Trump is an example of white male privilege taken to its most shameless extreme. He has such an exaggerated sense of his right to do and say absolutely anything, absorbed over a lifetime of unquestioned privilege, that he'd be happy to see his cult followers burn the country to the ground rather than take any responsibility for his own actions.

Did you notice my reluctance to say that I am also part of the upper-caste group? I wrote that "well" before "like me" — and there it is, an example of Berry's mirror wound and Wilkerson's rules of the road for high-caste Americans, even in a person who considers himself a progressive. No one wants to admit privilege, especially if we feel it may have been squandered. But the fight to confront and admit such truths, whether or not that's what "woke" means, is a fight not just to live up to the best possibilities of America, but to become more fully human.

Look at The GOPQ Nutter In Wisconsin

00:16 Jun 25 2023
Times Read: 237

By Chris capper Liebenthal — June 24, 2023
Earlier this week, Wisconsin lawmakers overwhelmingly passed a bill, with bipartisan support, that would allow pharmacists to prescribe some forms of birth control without the woman needing to see her doctor first.

Support for the bill was so overwhelming that only 11 Republicans voted against it. One of them was self-proclaimed "demon fighter" State Representative Chuck Wichgers. In the debate leading up to the vote, Wichgers spoke against the bill in a rambling, confused fashion, prattling off a cornucopia of irrational reasons why he was against women having access to any contraception.

Wichgers cited anonymous religious leaders (undoubtedly fellow Christofascists) who claimed that contraception led to an increase in infidelity; government control of people's family planning choices (making people take contraceptives against their will); the proliferation of STDs; men devaluing women and women thinking that they are more powerful than nature. He explained the last one by saying that when a woman becomes pregnant, that's nature taking its course and a woman who takes a contraceptive is trying to deny nature. Funny thing is that he never addressed the times where "nature" occurred because of incest and/or rape. Wonder why that is....

I wonder if Wichger's head would explode if someone told him that a woman was pregnant with a demon spawn?

Former F.B.I. Analyst Sentenced To Prison For- Keeping Classified Docs in Her Home

09:23 Jun 23 2023
Times Read: 253

A former FBI intelligence analyst from Dodge City, Kansas, who kept hundreds of classified documents at her home, including in her bathroom, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison by a federal judge in Kansas City on Wednesday for violating the same part of the Espionage Act that former President Donald Trump is accused of breaking.

The sentencing for willful retention of national defense information was the first since a federal grand jury indicted Trump earlier this month, accusing him of hoarding classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, keeping boxes of documents not only in a storage room but in a ballroom and bathroom as well.

The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Stephen R. Bough, offered the first courtroom clue since Trump’s indictment about what the former president can expect if he is found guilty.

“I cannot fathom why you would jeopardize our nation by leaving these types of documents in your bathtub,” Bough said.

Bough, an Obama appointee, ordered the former analyst, Kendra Kingsbury, to spend three years and 10 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. He ordered her to surrender to federal authorities to begin her prison sentence on July 21.

Kendra Kingsbury, who I mentioned on my show last week. Now, if Republicans really believe there’s a two-tiered justice system, they should be insisting Trump be prosecuted for the same crime under the same Espionage Act.

Greene and Bobo Are Feuding

10:07 Jun 22 2023
Times Read: 274

The messy feud between two of MAGA world’s biggest stars burst into public view on Wednesday, when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) called Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) a “little bitch” to her face on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The angry exchange came as the two lawmakers have been swiping at each other over their competing resolutions to impeach President Joe Biden. But tensions came to a head on Wednesday after Boebert leveraged a procedural tool to force a vote on her own impeachment resolution within days—undercutting Greene, who had offered her own resolution, but not with the procedural advantages of forcing a vote.

Greene apparently cursed out Boebert while the House was voting Wednesday afternoon, as the two spoke in a center aisle of the House floor; part of their interaction was captured on C-SPAN’s cameras.

The Hamilton County chapter of Moms for Liberty, a national organization recently listed as an "extremist group" by a civil rights watchdog, introduced its first newsletter Wednesday, The Parent Brigade. Adolf Hitler was quoted on its front cover.

Just below The Parent Brigade's masthead was a quote Hitler used at a Nazi rally in 1935: "He alone, who OWNS the youth, GAINS the future." The pages of the newsletter were posted on the group's Facebook page.

IndyStar reached out to officials with the Hamilton County chapter of Moms for Liberty requesting more context about the quote's usage but had received no response as of 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Man Who Attacked Ofc. Fanone On Jan 6 Gets OVER 12 YEARS

20:35 Jun 21 2023
Times Read: 295

Daniel Rodriguez, the man who attacked then-Washington, DC, police officer Michael Fanone with an electroshock weapon in the neck during the US Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, was sentenced Wednesday to 12 and a half years in prison.

Rodriguez, 40, had pleaded guilty to four counts in February, including conspiracy, assault with a dangerous weapon and obstruction of an official proceeding.

As Rodriguez exited the courtroom Wednesday, he defiantly shouted that “Trump won!” repeating the same lie that ultimately culminated in the Capitol attack.

During Wednesday’s sentencing, Judge Amy Berman Jackson called Rodriguez as a “one-man army” who, in the lead-up to January 6, called for “blood in the streets,” revolution, and violence against Donald Trump’s enemies in a Telegram group chat he created.

Jackson, who called Rodriguez’s attack on Fanone a “horrific assault,” noted that while Rodriguez was trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power, Fanone “was protecting the very foundation of democracy.”

“He was protecting America,” she said.

Before the judge handed down her sentence, Rodriguez blamed his actions on his difficult upbringing, disparities between socioeconomic classes in American society, and the violent protests in the summer of 2020 in a rambling, half-hour speech.

“I did what I thought was right,” Rodriguez, who called himself “an American Supremacist,” said of his actions on January 6.

Fanone, who addressed the court Wednesday, said he didn’t “give a sh*t” about Rodriguez. “He ceased to exist a long time ago.”

“My career, my friends and my faith in the justice system” were extinguished in the January 6 attack, Fanone said.

The former Metropolitan Police officer told CNN that he felt the sentence for Rodriguez was appropriate but said he believes it is time for DOJ to move forward on indicting Trump in connection with January 6. Fanone said that he won’t feel closure until those responsible for the planning and preparation of the January 6 attack are held responsible.

‘There will be blood’
In the weeks and months leading up to the January 6 attack, Rodriguez posted frequent messages about war, revolution and traitors in a group chat he created, according to prosecutors.

After Trump called for a protest in Washington on January 6, Rodriguez urged members of his group to travel to DC, telling them it was time to put “differences aside and fight” and encouraged them to bring weapons including knives and cans of bear spray, prosecutors wrote in their sentencing memorandum.

“Congress can hang. I’ll do it. Please let us get these people dear God,” Rodriguez wrote on the group message, according to screenshots of the chat.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Rodriguez said he only went to DC on January 6 to “protect the city from being burned down,” adding that he was “hopeful” Fanone would “be OK one day.”

The violence of January 6
During the Capitol attack, Rodriguez joined the throng of rioters in one of the most brutal and persistent attacks on officers that day.

Lines of police guarded a small tunnel entrance to the Capitol against members of the mob who used metal poles, bats, stolen riot shields, chemical spray, strobing lights and their own fists against the officers.

Rodriguez attacked the officers with a wooden pole and sprayed the line of defense with a fire extinguisher, according to prosecutors, and, inside the tunnel after another member of the mob gave Rodriguez the electroshock weapon, he lunged at police with the device.

After Fanone was dragged out of the tunnel by a rioter and pulled to the ground, Rodriguez used the weapon against Fanone, shocking him twice in the neck.

Read the entire story here. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/21/politics/michael-fanone-daniel-rodriguez-january-6-sentenced/index.html

Hawley Proclaims The U.S. A Christian Nation

09:19 Jun 20 2023
Times Read: 309

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) attempted a little revisionist history on social media on Monday.

It didn’t go well.

As Americans marked Juneteenth, a federal holiday, in a variety of ways ranging from solemn reflection to pre-summer cookouts, Hawley paused his awkward campaign for manliness to tweet about slavery: Today is a good day to remember: Christianity is the faith and America is the place slavery came to die, Hawley tweeted.

Critics pointed out that Hawley ― perhaps best known for saluting Jan. 6 protesters with a raised fist before running away from them ― missed the mark in several ways.

Christianity is not the religion of the United States, which guarantees the separation of church and state. The Christian faith was used repeatedly to justify slavery, especially within the United States. Former Mango Sec. of Defense Calls Him A Security Threat

18:32 Jun 18 2023
Times Read: 340

Painting him as a security risk, former Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Sunday added his voice to those critical of former President Donald Trump for his handling of classified information after his presidency.

Esper, who served in Trump's Cabinet, said: "People have described him as a hoarder when it comes to these type of documents. But clearly, it was unauthorized, illegal and dangerous."

Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union," Esper compared Trump's legal case — he was recently indicted on 37 charges related to his post-presidency handling of secret documents — to that of Jack Teixeira, a Massachusetts Air National Guard member accused of posting secret and sensitive military documents on social media. Teixeira was indicted Thursday.

"We have a case playing out right now in Massachusetts where that young airman from the Massachusetts National Guard is being charged on similar types of accounts under the Espionage Act for taking and retaining unauthorized documents that affected our national defense," Esper told host Jake Tapper.

Esper outlined scenarios in which the mishandling of classified documents could cause trouble for the United States.

"Imagine if a foreign agent, another country were to discover documents that outline America's vulnerabilities or the weaknesses of the United States military," he said. "Think about how that could be exploited, how that could be used against us in a conflict, how an enemy could develop countermeasures, things like that. Or in the case of the most significant piece that was raised in the allegation about U.S. plans to attack Iran, think about how that affects our readiness, our ability to prosecute an attack."

Tapper asked Esper if he thought that Trump, if elected president in 2024, could ever be trusted with the nation's secrets again.

"Based on his actions, again, if proven true under the indictment by the special counsel, no," Esper said.

"I mean, it's just irresponsible action that places our service members at risk, places our nation's security at risk. You cannot have these documents floating around."

Trump picked Esper to serve as Defense secretary in June 2019 and fired him in November 2020. "Mark Esper has been terminated," he tweeted then.

Esper was critical of Trump in his book, "A Sacred Oath," which was released in May. Among other things, Esper described his shock and dismay over a plan to send as many as 250,000 American troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. He also said Trump asked about launching missile strikes on Mexican drug labs.

White Supremacist Convicted

14:56 Jun 17 2023
Times Read: 356

A truck driver who expressed hatred of Jews was convicted Friday of barging into a Pittsburgh synagogue and shooting everyone he could find, killing 11 congregants in an act of antisemitic terror for which he could be sentenced to die.

The guilty verdict was a foregone conclusion after Robert Bowers’ own lawyers conceded at the trial’s outset that he attacked and killed worshippers at the Tree of Life synagogue on Oct. 27, 2018, in the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history. Jurors must now decide whether the 50-year-old should be sent to death row or sentenced to life in prison without parole as the federal trial shifts to a penalty phase expected to last several weeks.

Bowers was tried on 63 criminal counts, including hate crimes resulting in death and obstruction of the free exercise of religion resulting in death. His attorneys had offered a guilty plea in return for a life sentence, but prosecutors refused, opting instead to take the case to trial and pursue the death penalty. Most of the victims’ families expressed support for the decision.

Bowers turned a sacred house of worship into a “hunting ground,” targeting his victims because of their religion, a prosecutor told jurors on Thursday. Reading the names of each of the 11 victims he killed, prosecutor Mary Hahn asked the jury to “hold this defendant accountable ... and hold him accountable for those who cannot testify.”

Bowers, who was armed with an AR-15 rifle and other weapons, also shot and wounded seven, including five responding police officers.

Prosecutors presented evidence of his deep-seated animosity toward Jews and immigrants. Over 11 days of testimony, jurors learned that Bowers had extensively posted, shared or liked antisemitic and white supremacist content on Gab, a social media platform popular with the far right, and praised Hitler and the Holocaust. Bowers told police that “all these Jews need to die,” Hahn said.

Survivors testified about the terror they felt that day, including a woman who recounted how she was shot in the arm and then realized her 97-year-old-mother had been shot and killed right next to her. Andrea Wedner, the trial’s last witness, told jurors she touched her mother’s lifeless body and cried out, “Mommy,” before SWAT officers led her to safety.

With Bowers’ guilt established, survivors and family members of the deceased victims are expected to tell the jury about the devastating impact of his crimes. The penalty phase is scheduled to start next week.

Bowers’ attorneys did not mount a defense at the guilt stage of the trial, signaling they will focus their efforts on trying to save his life. They plan to introduce evidence that Bowers has schizophrenia, epilepsy and brain impairments. Defense lawyer Judy Clarke has also sought to raise questions about Bowers’ motive, suggesting to jurors that his rampage was not motivated by religious hatred but his delusional belief that Jews were committing genocide by helping refugees settle in the United States.

The three congregations that shared the synagogue building — Dor Hadash, New Light and Tree of Life — have spoken out against antisemitism and other forms of bigotry since the attack. The Tree of Life congregation also is working on a plan to overhaul the synagogue building — which still stands but has been closed since the shootings — by creating a complex that would house a sanctuary, museum, memorial and center for fighting antisemitism.

The trial took place three years after President Joe Biden said during his 2020 campaign that he would work to end capital punishment at the federal level and in states that still use it. His attorney general, Merrick Garland, has temporarily paused executions to review policies and procedures. But federal prosecutors continue to vigorously work to uphold already-issued death sentences and, in some cases, to pursue the death penalty at trial for crimes that are eligible, as in Bowers’ case.

Montana Man Sentenced to 18 Years For Hate Crimes and Attempted Murder

15:27 Jun 15 2023
Times Read: 377

A Montana man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after his conviction on federal hate crime and firearm charges related to a “self-described mission to rid the town of Basin of its lesbian, queer and gay community,” officials said.

John Russell Howald was convicted in February for firing an AK-style rifle at the home of a woman who openly identified as a lesbian, the US Department of Justice said in a news release. The woman was inside the home during the March 2020 incident.

Howald was armed with two assault rifles, a hunting rifle, two pistols and multiple high-capacity magazines that were taped together for faster reloading, the release said.

“Hoping he had killed her, Howald set off toward other houses occupied by people who identify as lesbian, queer or gay,” the release said.

Some residents who knew Howald spotted him and stalled him long enough for a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy to respond, prosecutors said.

Howald was recorded “yelling and firing more rounds with the same rifle, expressing his hatred toward the community’s gay and lesbian residents and his determination to ‘clean’ them from his town,” the release said.

Howald pointed his rifle at a responding deputy, “nearly starting a shootout in downtown Basin,” before running into surrounding hills, according to the release.

He was arrested the next day, armed with a loaded pistol and a knife. “In Howald’s car, officers found an AR-style rifle and a revolver. During a search of Howald’s camper, officers found an AK-style rifle, a hunting rifle, and ammunition,” prosecutors said.

“Motivated by hatred of the LGBTQI+ community and armed with multiple firearms and high-capacity magazines, this defendant sought to intimidate – even terrorize – an entire community by shooting into the victim’s home trying to kill her for no reason other than her sexual orientation,” ATF Director Steven Dettelbach said in the release.

Howald’s 18-year prison sentence, to be followed by five years of supervised release, was announced during Pride Month and comes as the Human Rights Campaign has declared a national state of emergency for the LGBTQ+ community in the US.

The multiplying threats facing millions in our community are not just perceived – they are real, tangible and dangerous,” the group’s president, Kelley Robinson, said. “In many cases they are resulting in violence against LGBTQ+ people, forcing families to uproot their lives and flee their homes in search of safer states, and triggering a tidal wave of increased homophobia and transphobia that puts the safety of each and every one of us at risk.”

Howald hoped to inspire similar attacks around the country, said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

“The Justice Department will continue to vigorously defend the rights of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, to be free from hate-fueled violence,” Clarke said in the release. “This Pride Month, we affirm our commitment to using the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act to hold perpetrators of hate-fueled violence targeting the LGBTQI+ community accountable.”

Go Forth And Breed For The GOPQ Say The Loonies

11:17 Jun 14 2023
Times Read: 393

This past weekend marked the conservative organization Turning Point USA’s annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit. Over the course of three days, as Media Matters’ Madeline Peltz reported, a stacked roster of some of the worst people on the internet offered some variation of the same speech imploring young attendees to give up their career aspirations and their birth control. The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens literally wrapped up the convention by telling attendees, “Every ill that we are fighting right now in society has been brought forth by women.”

Ironically, nearly all the speakers at the conference—from Owens and TPUSA’s podcast lead Alex Clark to Fox host Laura Ingraham and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)—were invited because of their high-power, high-earning careers and massive platforms. But they spent the duration of their speeches preaching that if young women focus on professional dreams rather than marriage and childrearing, then (as Clark put it) they’re contributing to our “degenerate rotten culture.”

Peltz, who suffered through the conference for the sake of journalism, describes a venue in Grapevine, Texas, teeming with bedazzled purses shaped like guns and “dump your liberal boyfriend” t-shirts available as merch, and even bathrooms papered in advertisements for transphobic tampon brands. Seared into her brain, she says, are hours of speeches akin to Owens’ telling the audience of roughly 2,500 young women, “You should strive to be more like your grandmother.” This, of course, is entirely inconsistent with Owens’ whole persona. “It’s not like she’s gardening, cooking, raising children in the kitchen all day, growing food from her garden,” Peltz notes. “She puts out a show five days a week. She’s never given up her career—that’s why she was there.”

Charlie Kirk—TPUSA’s founder and, for all intents and purposes, a dude—spoke several times at the conference, but offered his most notable remarks to a college student who shared her dreams of becoming a successful surgeon, as well as her concerns with the tension between this ambition and her desire to start a family. “You’re going to have to choose which one matters more,” Kirk told her.

According to Peltz, Kirk instructed the young woman to “spend a couple of days with infants and see how she feels afterward,” told her she’d run out of time to find a husband if she focused on her professional aspirations in her 20s, and then hit her with this utter doozy: “There are a lot of successful, 35-year-old orthopedic surgeons that have cats, and not kids, and they’re very miserable.”

Conservative columnist Benny Johnson told attendees, “There ain’t nothing wrong with being a trad wife. Being a trad wife’s based. Men love this.”

Meanwhile, Clark, who opened the conference on its first day, dedicated most of her stage-time to ill-received tangents on the supposed evils of hormonal birth control and daycare. “Who in this room has decided to ditch hormonal birth control?” she asked. After “very few hands went up,” per Peltz, Clark repeated the question: “How many of you are considering ditching hormonal birth control?” Even fewer hands.

Clark has dedicated much of her podcasting and social media activity to spreading disinformation about birth control and advocating “natural” methods that are scientifically unsound. She said at the summit that once women do have children, they should rearrange their lives to raise them on their own and avoid the supposed evils of daycare. “The feminist movement gave way to the notion that a woman could have her cake and eat it too,” Clark said, telling attendees it’s “a lie to tell women that we can have it all.”

The rest of the conference saw Kirk call women “cliquey” and “mean”—compared to men, who commit the overwhelming majority of homicides around the world—as he encouraged attendees to network with each other. Rants excoriating trans women (including Kirk’s claim that there’s a “relentless assault on women in this country” by “creepy, narcissistic freaks who are men wearing dresses to compete in sports against many of you”) drew the most applause from attendees. Gina Loudon, host of far-right talk show Real America’s Voice, went on a tangent about what cis women are now supposedly being forced to endure, notably skipping over the collapse of Roe: “You’ve had your restrooms taken over by men who say they’re women and you’ve had your entire gender completely, just, undermined,” she said.

If Re-Elected He Will Never Leave Says Expert on Authoritarians

15:03 Jun 12 2023

Historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat, an expert on authoritarianism, on Sunday delivered a sobering prediction about the future of America if Donald Trump returns to the White House.

“If he gets back into power, he will never leave,” said Ben-Ghiat, a history professor at New York University and author of “Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present.”

“That’s very clear, because like all authoritarians, he needs to get back into power because he’s so corrupt and shut down all investigations,” Ben-Ghiat told MSNBC’s Ali Velshi during a discussion on Trump’s rhetoric following his indictment for mishandling classified documents.

Trump in April was indicted in the Stormy Daniels hush money payment case. Last month, a civil jury found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation after writer E. Jean Carroll accused him of raping her in the 1990s. He remains under criminal investigation for attempting to overthrow the 2020 election result in Georgia and for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.

Multiple high-profile Republicans are staunchly defending Trump, the front-runner in the 2024 GOP race, even as his legal woes mount.

Ben-Ghiat described the GOP as “an autocratic party operating in a democracy.”

“They have talking points just like the Kremlin does, and we have seen everybody use the same language about the weaponization of government,” she said.

F.B.I. Recruiting Informants

14:46 Jun 12 2023
Times Read: 431

From the halls of Congress to the dark corners of the internet, charged and violent rhetoric is echoing among some Donald Trump sympathizers ahead of the former president’s appearance in a Miami court on Tuesday

FBI special agents across the country assigned to domestic terrorism squads are actively working to identify any possible threats, four law enforcement sources told CNN, following Trump’s second indictment.

So far, the FBI is aware of various groups like the Proud Boys discussing traveling to south Florida to publicly show support for Trump, sources said, but there is currently no indication of any specific and credible threat.

“We have now reached a war phase,” Rep. Andy Biggs, an Arizona Republican and prominent supporter of Trump’s election denialism, tweeted Friday. “Eye for an eye.” Biggs’ office later said his comment was a call for the GOP to “step up and use their procedural tools” to counter “the Left’s weaponization of our federal law enforcement apparatus.”

Speaking at a Republican event in Georgia on Friday night, Kari Lake, who unsuccessfully ran for governor of Arizona last year and is still spreading falsehoods about that election, said: “If you want to get to President Trump, you’re going to have to go through me and 75 million Americans just like me.”

“And I’m going to tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA,” she said to applause, adding, “That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.”

On some pro-Trump forums, anonymous users were less circumspect. “MAGA will make Waco look like a tea party!” one user posted Friday in an apparent reference to the April 1993 Waco, Texas siege that left 76 people dead.

On Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, one anonymous user posted Thursday, “This is a Declaration of War against the American People. It is time We The People exercise our 2nd Amendment rights and burn the corruption out of DC.”

The former president himself has been posting frequently on Truth Social throughout the weekend. “SEE YOU IN MIAMI ON TUESDAY!!!” he posted Friday.

High emotions, little coordination
Still, at least on public social media forums, there doesn’t appear to be a mass online mobilization effort for people to gather people in Miami this week like there was in the lead-up to the events in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021.

However some prominent right-wing figures are calling for Trump supporters to protest in Miami on Tuesday.

One influential right-wing activist in Florida who has almost half a million followers on Twitter is promoting a flag-waving event outside Trump’s golf course in Doral on Monday and a protest the following day against the “weaponization of government” outside the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Courthouse, where the former president is set to appear.

Some Trump supporters online have stressed the need for protests to remain peaceful and some have said they will not demonstrate in Miami on Tuesday, fearing it could be a trap. This is an extension of the false belief held by some that the January 6 attack on the US Capitol was a set-up designed to incriminate supporters of the former president.

But at least one person who has served prison time for his role in the January 6 riot said he will be in Miami to protest on Tuesday.

Anthime Gionet, a prominent online streamer better known by his moniker “Baked Alaska,” plead guilty to unlawfully protesting after he livestreamed himself breaching the Capitol in a nearly 30-minute video that showed him encouraging others in the mob to enter the building.

Gionet served a two month sentence and was released at the end of March, according to federal records.

On Friday, he lamented Trump’s latest indictment in a livestream outside Mar-a-Lago. During the livestream, Gionet said he and another person who was with him outside Mar-a-Lago would both be in Miami on Tuesday. The other person is heard on the stream responding, “we weren’t supposed to talk about that.” Gionet replied, “I know but it leaked so f*** it.”

The exchange may be illustrative of the shifting ways people use the internet to organize – something that has proven to be a challenge for law enforcement.

No ‘specific and credible plans for violence yet’
While much of the planning for January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol was done on public forums that could be read by anyone, a lot of that communication has since shifted to private channels, experts say.

The secretive nature of many private forums has caused federal agents working domestic terrorism matters to place greater emphasis on recruiting informants who can report on potential threats discussed online among extremists, law enforcement sources told CNN.

But even messages posted publicly cannot be accessed by investigators without lawful investigative purposes. The FBI’s own investigative guidelines limit what material can be accessed by agents and analysts, even when it is in the public domain. These policies prevent FBI employees from trawling the internet looking for concerning material, unless a formal assessment or investigation has been authorized and opened.

The FBI’s investigative efforts to identify possible threats include querying existing confidential human informants reporting on domestic terrorism issues for any indication of potential threats, sources said.

In addition to working their informant networks, FBI agents and analysts are reviewing publicly available online platforms frequented by domestic extremists for any indication of plans for violence.

Ben Decker, CEO of Memetica, a threat intelligence company, told CNN on Sunday, “Given the robust and successful grassroots architecture of right-wing culture war campaigns and anti-Pride protests this month, there are concerns that many of these in-person rally groups could pivot directly into more Trump-themed protests around the country over the coming days.”

But, at this point, Daniel J. Jones, the president of Advance Democracy, a non-profit that conducts public interest research, told CNN that his group had not identified “what we would assess to be specific and credible plans for violence yet.”

“However,” he added ,”as we saw during the events of January 6, it’s Trump’s statements that drive the online rhetoric and real-world violence. As such, much depends on what Trump says of his perceived opponents, as well as what he asks of his supporters, in the days ahead.”

Juliette Kayyem, a CNN national security analyst and a former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, echoed this concern. “We know how incitement to violence works. It is nurtured from the top and given license to spread by leaders. They don’t have to direct it to one place or time. They can simply unleash it, knowing full well that someone may become emboldened to act,” she said.

Last month, the Department of Homeland Security issued a nationwide bulletin indicating the country “remains in a heightened threat environment,” warning that individuals “motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and personal grievances continue to pose a persistent and lethal threat to the homeland.”

DHS analysts indicated the motivating factors that could incite extremists to violence include perception about the integrity of the 2024 election cycle, and, while not specifically citing Trump’s legal woes, also pointed to “judicial decisions” in their list of grievances among extremist groups.

Ahead of Trump’s Tuesday court appearance, law enforcement will continue to remain on alert.

“We do not want a repeat of [the January 6] violence,” one senior FBI source said.

CNN’s Katelyn Polantz and Holmes Lybrand contributed to this report.

Barr Demolishes GOPQ Pushback on the Indictment

20:24 Jun 11 2023
Times Read: 447

Former Attorney General Bill Barr called arguments being made by Republicans attempting to compare former President Trump’s handling of classified documents to previous presidents “big lies.”

Barr was asked by “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream to respond to comparisons of Trump leaving the White House with classified documents to former Presidents Clinton and Obama, and President Biden when he was vice president.

Barr said that the difference is that other presidents worked with the National Archives to store those documents, unlike Trump who faces obstruction of justice charges over trying to keep from handing the records back over to the federal government.

“So, there are two big lies, I think, that are out there right now,” Barr said. “One is all these other presidents took all these documents. Those were situations where they arranged with the archives to set up special space under the management, control, and security provided by the archivists to temporarily put documents until the libraries were ready. These were not people just putting them in their basement, OK.”

The second lie, according to Barr, is the notion that a president has “complete authority” to declare any document “personal.”

“It’s facially ridiculous. That opinion had to do with the distinction between official records, which are records prepared by government agencies for the purpose of government action, and personal documents, as opposed to official documents, which are things prepared by the President, such as a diary or notes, which are not used in the government’s deliberations,” Barr said.

He acknowledged that while the president does have some discretion, some of the documents in Trump’s possession, including what could be included in the president’s daily summary of high-level information, clearly could not be marked as personal. The summary includes some of the nation’s most sensitive information.

“The president has some discretion, but these are official documents. It’s inarguable the President’s daily brief provided by the intelligence community is not Donald J. Trump’s personal document, period,” Barr said

The Justice Department charged Trump in a 37-count indictment last week over his handling of classified materials after leaving office, and the charges hold several decades of prison time.

The Justice Department released evidence that showed that Trump possessed documents that contained nuclear and military secrets, stored them improperly and shared the information with staffers who did not have security clearance.

Barr served as attorney general during the Trump administration until December 2020 when he stated publicly that the FBI and Justice Department found no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the midst of Trump contesting his election loss to Biden that year. Barr has since been a critic of Trump, particularly after Jan. 6.

It's The Coverup and the Refusal To Turn Over Docs

15:29 Jun 10 2023
Times Read: 464

Most of you probably don't relaize that what brought down Republican President Nixon was the coverup and obstruction of justice involving the aftermath of Watergate..

Here ..ok..he mistakenly took a ton (I exaggerate) of classified material..... but when the National Archives requested the return of the docs he failed to fully comply.... resulting in a search of Mar-A-lago..... and the resulting discovery of all the docs he should have turned over but didn't.

Then apparently he suggested to his lawyers to remove certain classified docs by using a plucking motion with his fingers.... how would Jack Smith know that? maybe a third person was present.... and maybe one of the lawyers came forward.

Again, he can't declassify docs just by thinking about it or waving his mango wand over them..there is a procedure .

So you MAGA clowns can threaten civil war and talk gibberish all you want... And for those of you who post those threats online, such as slaughtering millions who vote DEM, .... I will suggest to you that the FEDs know who you are and frankly I don't have a problem with them knowing who you are. Keeping in mind there is plenty of room in Federal Prison or in the graveyard for those who take up arms.

And for those of you who have seen those comments in other news articles I will say.... see these fuckers want the camps opened just like I said

Mango Informed He Is A Target By DOJ

11:55 Jun 08 2023
Times Read: 497

The Justice Department recently informed Donald Trump’s legal team that he is a target in a federal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified documents, sources familiar with the matter told CNN, a sign that prosecutors may be moving closer to indicting the former president.

The sources have been informed of the target letter and its contents but had not seen it themselves.

Prosecutors’ decision to inform Trump he’s a target crystallizes that special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation is focused on Trump’s actions and not just the actions of people around him.

Trump’s legal team met with DOJ officials, including Smith, about the investigation on Monday. The meeting focused on the Trump legal team presenting their allegations of misconduct by prosecutors. Smith did not say anything beyond greeting those in the room in the meeting, that source said.

Justice Department regulations allow for prosecutors to notify subjects of an investigation that they have become a target. Often a notification that a person is a target is a strong sign an indictment could follow, but it is possible the recipient is not ultimately charged.

Those notifications aren’t required, but prosecutors have the discretion to notify subjects that they have become a target. Once informed, a target has the opportunity to present evidence or testify to the grand jury if they choose.

Trump, in an interview with The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman on Wednesday, would not say whether he had been told he was a target in the special counsel’s investigation, but he denied that he had been told he would be indicted.

Multiple people who talked to Trump at length this week told CNN they were confused by the news and said Trump did not raise that he was a target or seem agitated.

Smith’s investigation into the potential mishandling of classified materials and possible obstruction of justice has appeared to be nearing the final stages for weeks now.

The special counsel’s investigation has scrutinized Trump’s handling of classified documents he brought with him to his Mar-a-Lago resort after leaving the White House, including actions that were taken after Trump received a subpoena in May 2022 to return all classified materials in his possession. Last August, FBI agents retrieved more than 100 classified documents from Mar-a-Lago after obtaining a search warrant.

Mango Enabler OUT At CNN

Chris Licht, the embattled chief executive and chairman of CNN, whose brief one-year tenure at the network was stained by a series of severe missteps, will depart the company.

“I met with Chris and he will be leaving CNN,” David Zaslav, the chief executive of parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, told CNN employees at the start of the network’s daily editorial call Wednesday.

Licht’s departure, which came days after a devastating 15,000-word profile in The Atlantic, capped a tumultuous year for CNN, marked by layoffs, historically low ratings, and rock-bottom employee morale.

Allow me to point out the obvious... what would happen should the orange jesus be re-electd and then 4 years from now says he is Presidente for life? What you say? Well, suppose he says the people of America will not stand for another election and that there will be death and destruction if there is one.

I have said before here that should he be re-elected he will not leave office... I still believe that.

Woman Calls Duhsantis A Fascist- He Thanks Her

By Conover Kennard — June 3, 2023
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had a fit during a rally in South Carolina on Friday after a woman in the audience called him a "f**king fascist." Is DeSantis a fascist? Yes. DeSantis's entire campaign for the GOP nomination is based on fighting wokeness. That's it, and what he's doing is straight out of the Q playbook. He's censoring what children can learn in school, and he believes in the suppression of opposition.

After the woman called DeSantis a "fucking fascist," the Florida Governor actually thanked her twice. "Yeah, well, thank you, thank you," he said.

Space Laser Thinks Honeypots Lured the Insurrectionist Trash on Jan 6

09:17 Jun 02 2023
Times Read: 577

During her "podcast with my boyfriend" on Rumble, the Georgia Klan mom created a slew of new conspiracy theories in her efforts to blame law enforcement for the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, rather than those (like Trump?) who were responsible for inciting it.

Marjorie Taylor Greene seems to know a lot about committing crimes. She has also claimed the Jan 5 pipe bomber's actions were done by someone wanting to be seen and caught -- an Alex Jones-style false flag operation.

You see, this should never happen. The federal government should never be weaponized against the people and set up honeypots and traps to draw people in and actually take part in making these people commit crimes and then framing the people to set up a narrative against a president,” Greene said. “It’s wrong, and I believe that’s what happened on January 6th,” she declared boldly.

It can never be Trump or his supporters that commit crimes or acts of violence, it must be the deep state.

In another video, Marge made believe the pipe bomber on Jan 5 was a plant.

“This is the behavior of someone that seems to be wanted to be seen on video camera and isn’t concerned about getting caught,” Greene said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene suggests the January 5th “so-called pipe bomber” may be an FBI false flag:

“This is the behavior of someone that seems to be wanted to be seen on video camera and isn’t concerned about getting caught. …[The FBI] were supposedly hunting this person down.” pic.twitter.com/pv7jxMDikc

Mango Supporter Calls For Him To Be Installed as Dictator

By David Edwards — June 1, 2023
Tyler Russell, a Canadian nationalist leader of the America First movement, has called for Donald Trump to be installed as "dictator" in a "Trumpian Reich."

In a clip obtained by Right Wing Watch, Russell told the audience of his daily broadcast about his vision for a Trump government.

All of these DeSantis, you know, libertarian populist people that are like, we need to actually have political substance," he complained. "No, I don't give a f--k about that, okay? I don't care about your political substance."

"I want a Trump Reich," he continued. "And I want Trump's face to be, you know, projected onto every single tallest skyscraper in every city around America, okay?"

Russell insisted that his followers did not want "freedom."

"We want a total Trumpian Reich, okay?" he said. "That's what we want. We want a total Trumpian Reich. We want dictator Trump."

"We want Trump to rule forever and ever and make America great again," Russell added. "And we want all these people who are acting in bad faith, who are traitors to this nation, to go to jail. That's what we want."

GOPQ Senator Doesn't Want Reality

10:38 Jun 01 2023
Times Read: 600

By Conover Kennard — May 31, 2023
We already knew that Sen. Markwayne Mullin (OK-R) doesn't like reality since he's an election denier, but at a hearing on childcare, the former cage fighter just came out and said it.

"No, I don't want reality," he said when a colleague asked him if he would allow a witness to answer a question.

The room burst out laughing, and so did Twitter.

I don't know what they were talking about regarding Jesus, but they teach His story to kids in Sunday school. As for Mullin, we shouldn't laugh too hard. He does not support any exceptions for abortion, including rape or incest. And even if the mother's life is at risk.

there you go... they don't want reality. They don't wish to know
